She’s No Angel But She Sure Get’s Things Done

This exploration of modern motherhood is a goof on the Victorian Era ideal of a woman as “The angel in the house.”
Inspired by my sisters who are both single mothers, the octopus mother in this house does it all, from meal-making to bringing in the bacon and balancing the budget, to cleaning up the endless pile of toys and the inevitably spilt milk.

In the lower right room, in the lockets above the piano, you’ll find images of Victorian women doing their “ideal mother” thing. While our modern heroine may not be as demure and tasteful, she gets an endless stream of tasks done in her own wild, multi-armed style.
